The official program has been released for the annual Pharmacy Assistant National Conference (PA2023) held from 31 August – 2 September at the Hyatt Regency in Sydney.

Designed to provide quality education, training and personal development for all pharmacy assistants, the conference program will equip pharmacy staff with updated information on current industry trends and product knowledge, offering an excellent opportunity for career advancement.

The theme of the conference ‘Embrace, Envision, Evolve’ aims to encourage pharmacy assistants to take an in- depth look at the future of community pharmacy and embrace change in this ever-evolving industry.

The National President of the Pharmacy Guild of Australia (PGA), Professor Trent Twomey is urging pharmacy assistants to attendance this year’s conference.

“Now, more than ever, pharmacies need staff to look towards the future and provide suggestions for improvement and change.

“We are thrilled to have a comprehensive program featuring motivational and panel sessions addressing the conference theme ‘Embrace, Envision, Evolve’ as well as important sessions on mental health, setting your pharmacy up for QCPP accreditation and other timely industry updates,” says Professor Twomey.

Product knowledge sessions will focus on allergic rhinitis, sleep issues, natural pain relief and probiotics, to name a few. Delegates will also have access to a free, three-hour refresher training workshop on skin and fungal conditions.

Also featured during the conference is the state winners of the 2023 Pharmacy Guild of Australia/Maxigesic Pharmacy Assistant of the Year (PATY) who will share their stories during a panel session on Friday 1 September before the national winner is announced during the Friday night Cocktail Party.

For the first time, Pharmacy Assistant national conference will be held in conjunction with the Pharmacy Connect conference; an annual Pharmacy Guild event for pharmacists and pharmacy owners. The two events will share a 50-plus stand trade exhibition and social functions including the Welcome Reception and Cocktail Party.

The Pharmacy Assistant National Conference has been proudly educating pharmacy assistants around Australia for more than 20 years. Early bird registration is now open which saves delegates $65 off the full registration fee. To view the full program and to register visit https://pharmacyassistants.com/program/
