APP delegates celebrate easing of event restrictions

APP delegates and overseers celebrate yesterday’s easing of Queensland Covid-19 event restrictions.

The easing of restrictions will see delegates and the industry able to reconnect with care at APP2021.

APP convenor and former Guild National President Kos Sclavos says that the APP2021 events team had been working with the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre (GCCEC) for many months on Covid Safe Plans to ensure the safety and wellbeing of attendees.

He highlights that indoor premises like the GCCEC can increase from one person to four square metres to one person per two square metres.

Seated and ticketed venues can also increase capacity from 50% to 100%.

“The safety of our attendees is always our number one priority, and we’ll continue to keep a close tab on any Covid-19 developments,” he says.

“The GCCEC has a site-specific Covid Safe Plan which is approved from the Gold Coast Public Health Unit.”

The Covid Safe Plan, which is constantly reviewed, was developed in consultation with the GCCEC Covid Safe Task Force, industry bodies, government and health authorities.

The plan covers all essential areas of operation including cleaning and hygiene, social distancing, food and beverage service, training and record keeping.

“I encourage everyone to take a well-earned break on the Gold Coast to reconnect with colleagues, get the latest industry updates, network, earn CPD credits and build their skills,” Mr Sclavos says.

The event, which will take place on 20-23 May at the GCCEC, will showcase 400 plus trade stands and 100 plus speakers.

Delegates who register early are eligible for Super Early Bird rates, which saves them over $200 off standard rates.”
