Do not rely on the makeup wipe!

Makeup wipes are a great on-the-go tool to wash off excess dirt and oils – they are time efficient and easily portable when travelling.

However solely relying on makeup wipes every day as a full face cleanser? That will be doing more harm than good.

In Workout the beauty hacks in the March issue of Retail Pharmacy Assistants magazine, I covered some of the ‘must-have’ products that all people who train and exercise carry with them to maintain their hygiene throughout a workout.

Why are beauty/hygiene products important if I exercise?

If you’re one that sweats up a storm on a daily basis, and you don’t take care of your skin, it’s going to lash out at you.

New York-based Dermatologist Rachel Nazarian told Health.com, “The trapping of bacteria and sweat in the pores can enlarge pores over time and cause blackheads, while the trapping of the heat can flare temperature-sensitive conditions such as rosacea, ultimately causing redness and uneven skin tone.”

And makeup wipes can’t do the job?

Board-certified physician assistant at Anne Arundel Dermatology in Virignia, Archana Sangha explained to HuffPost that while makeup wipes can remove some of the dirt off your face, they’re not getting rid of all of it.

“There’s that residue that’s left on the skin still,” said Ms Sangha.

Go all in

Therefore going ‘all in’ on your skin routine, is crucial for your skin to survive! Investing in a full skincare regime that involves cleansing, toning and moisturising (most days at least), will ensure that your skin is left glowing.
