24 HEMP FEATURE “Understanding the multitude of benefits will help educate your consumers in store and help them gain confidence incorporating this wonderful ingredient into their self- care regime.” FROM PAGE 23 “Andalou launched its botanical infused CannaCell range in Australia just over a year ago and it’s been one of its most popular ranges,” she said. She adds that the Glow Mask and Beauty Oil are the two products proving most successful from the CannaCell range. The Glow Mask, she says, works to “hydrate skin, while also soothing distressed skin and improving its natural defence, for a complexion that’s restored and glows”. She describes the CannaCell Beauty Oil as “a nourishing botanical beauty oil that helps counteract oxidative damage and restore the barrier function of the skin, leaving skin glowing and soothed”. Marzena BodyCare has incorporated HSO into Marzena Natural Body Wax Strips. Mrs Clarke said: “We currently have three lines that include hemp seed oil as an ingredient. “The strips feature next-generation ingredients including hemp seed oil to help calm the skin, and sustainably sourced natural pine tree resin wax formula – ensuring even stubborn short hairs are gripped. “Marzena has the only natural wax strips in Australasia, which include the benefits of hemp seed oil, and the unique benefits have resonated well with customers.” As the HSO trend grows, other brands may take a leaf out of the Hemp Worx, Andalou and Marzena books, with each claiming to have achieved great success with products featuring the ingredient, as well as attracting positive feedback from consumers. HSO in the pharmacy With HSO’s inclusion in more and more beauty and skin care products, it’s important for those working in a pharmacy to be well informed about the natural ingredient. To put it bluntly, and for the consumers who come into the pharmacy with this question (because they will), you cannot get high through applying hemp seed oil-infused lotions, creams or other products onto the skin. However, your skin will be high on nutrients. “It’s always important to be well informed and understand ingredients and products,” Ms Galileos said, adding that “confidence, competence and knowledge are necessary” for pharmacy staff to successfully assist consumers and recommend products to them. This is agreed upon by Ms McCowan who added: “... understanding the multitude of benefits will help educate your consumers in store and help them gain confidence incorporating this wonderful ingredient into their self- care regime.” “A pharmacy is a trusted environment – an environment where consumers ask questions and trust the answers,” concluded Ms Cady-Ellis.
