This month, Australian Red Cross Shops are asking for quality donations with a story that can be shared on a card, giving new owners an insight into the special memory the piece holds for its original owner.
As part of the initiative, Mammamia Executive Editor and host of podcast ‘Nothing to Wear’, Leigh Campbell, donated a designer dress to her local Red Cross Shop and is delighted to be giving this special item a new lease on life.
“I wore this stunning Aje branded dress to a high tea I hosted when celebrating my new home last year. I really love it, but I’m excited for it to have a new home. I know someone else will love wearing it as much as I did, so I was so grateful to have the chance to donate it to the Australian Red Cross and share this story with its next owner.”
“Writing my story tag in-store made the process of donating clothes really fun and I hope more people will embrace the positive impacts of donating pre-loved quality clothing.”
Australian Red Cross Head of Retail, Richard Wood, said quality pre-loved clothes often have the best stories to tell. By donating these items to Australian Red Cross they’ll not only be able to bring more joy to others, they’ll also be contributing to a great cause.
“More quality items in our stores allows Australian Red Cross to help more people in need with the proceeds from each sale providing essential funding for our humanitarian work right across Australia.
“That could be emotional support for people sheltering in a disaster evacuation centre or daily phone calls to older or isolated members of our community so they feel safe and connected,” he said.
