Thanks to the support of the Queensland Government, thousands of attendees were able to enjoy the successful Australian Pharmacy Professional Conference and Exhibition (APP2021), which was held on the Gold Coast 20-23 May 2021.
The Queensland Government through Tourism & Events Queensland is a proud supporter of APP, featuring the event on the It’s Live in Queensland events calendar, and will reportedly continue to support the event in 2022.
Thanking Tourism & Events Queensland for their ongoing support, Kos Sclavos AM, APP Convenor and former Guild National President says that “close to 5,200 pharmacy attendees … converged on the Gold Coast last week for APP2021”.
“We’ve already seen the positive impact in Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre (GCCEC) and the events industry.
“We appreciate the many hundreds of talented staff who made APP 2021 a memorable experience for all attendees – from events hire, trade stand builders, event organisations, photographers, filmographers, hospitality staff, security and many more roles,” says Mr Sclavos.
According to Mr Sclavos, “attendees filled accommodation in Broadbeach and its surrounding suburbs to capacity and enjoyed the many local restaurants and bars, shopping, and other tourist activities across the Gold Coast”.
“It’s great to see tourism returning after what was a tough 2020 for many operators,” he adds.
“The Queensland Government’s support for events like APP is crucial to ensuring support for our communities, especially ones like the Gold Coast, who have been hit hard by the Covid-19 impact on tourism.”
Mr Sclavos is “pleased to announce that APP2022 will also be on at the GCCEC on 24-27 March 2022” adding that this will once again benefit the “local tourism and events industries”.
