Founder of Bravery Buddies finalist in two prestigious national awards

Tegan Kubler, an advocate for children battling medical-related hair loss, has been named a finalist in not one, but two national awards, recognising her tireless commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of those who need it the most.

Tegan is a finalist in the “Social Change Maker” category in the Alibi Awards and the “Making a Difference” and “Social Change Hero” categories in the Roar Awards

Tegan Kubler’s journey has been profoundly shaped by her own experience with leukaemia, which she has been fighting for 22 years, diagnosed at just 13 years old. This life-altering event lead to her passion and purpose to help children who, like herself, are impacted primarily by cancer. Drawing from her personal struggle and recognising a need for these children to have a relatable companion by their side, Tegan founded the heart-warming charity, Bravery Buddies.

Bravery Buddies is a non-profit organisation committed to providing companion dolls to children impacted by medical-related hair loss. These inclusive dolls are available to both girls and boys in a variety of skin tones to resemble the child they are given to and provide solace and comfort during difficult times. The charity’s mission is not only to boost the self-esteem and emotional well-being of these brave children but also to remind them that they are not alone in their journey.

These nominations honour Tegan’s unwavering dedication to social change and her commitment to providing comfort and support to children in need. Upon learning of her finalist status in these prestigious awards, Tegan expressed her profound gratitude, remarking,

“Being a finalist in these awards is a huge honour, but my excitement is not for personal recognition. I am thrilled that this recognition shines a light on Bravery Buddies and may result in more children receiving the emotional support Bravery Buddies can offer. Moreover, I hope it encourages more donors to join our mission, as the charity has faced significant challenges in recent years due to a lack of funding.”

The Alibi Awards will take place on the 27th of October, and the Roar Awards will follow on the 4th of November, both in Sydney. These awards serve as a platform to celebrate and acknowledge individuals and organisations who have made a significant impact in society, highlighting their dedication and unwavering commitment to their work.

Tegan Kubler’s journey from a leukaemia survivor to a national finalist in these awards is a testament to the incredible work she has done through Bravery Buddies. Her dedication to making the world a better place through kindness for children facing cancer is an inspiration to us all.
