NSW Health recently announced a state-wide pilot where appropriately trained pharmacists in community pharmacies will be able to provide treatment for uncomplicated urinary tract infections (UTI) in women aged from 18 to 65 years (inclusive) as part of a clinical trial commencing in April 2023.
To support this advancement in community pharmacists’ scope of practice and women’s health, the Australasian College of Pharmacy (College) is offering New South Wales community pharmacists free accredited training for uncomplicated cystitis treatment.
College President, Michelle Bou-Samra, recognises the success of the Urinary Tract Infection Pharmacy Pilot – Queensland and commends NSW Health for the announcement of the state-wide pilot.
