Minister McCormack will be speaking to attendees in person at 3:15pm. Minister McCormack has been Deputy Prime Minister and Leader of the Nationals since 2018. Prior to this, Mr McCormack was Minister for Defence Personnel, Minister for Veterans’ Affairs, and Minister Assisting the Prime Minister for the Centenary of ANZAC.

The Hon Mark Coulton MP, Minister for Regional Health, Regional Communications and Local Government, will also be presenting during this session time. With Mr Coulton’s ministerial responsibility for Regional Health, he will bring a unique perspective on the vital role community pharmacies play in regional areas of Australia.

Deputy Prime Minister McCormack and Minister Coulton join Federal leaders Hon Greg Hunt MP, Minister for Health and Aged Care, and Hon Mark Butler, Shadow Minister for Health and Aged Care, who are also speaking on Thursday, in what will be a jam-packed program.

APP2021 Conference Convenor, Kos Sclavos AM, says the announcement is another confirmation of the importance of community pharmacy in national health policy.

“APP2021 attendees are in the unique position of getting face-to-face updates first hand,” says Mr Sclavos.

“This year’s program is the best we’ve had in the event’s 31-year history, we are very pleased to be able to have so many of our national leaders joining us.

“I know attendees will get a lot out of hearing their stories and come away inspired with the learnings they have been able to garner as they have steered Australia through the Covid-19 pandemic.

“I wish to thank our Principal Sponsor, Viatris, who has accommodated this key presentation by the Deputy Prime Minister to be included in their allocated conference program time. I appreciate that many of our sponsors, exhibitors and indeed delegates have been flexible in these unique times.

“While I understand there will always be uncertainty around Covid-19 disruptions as situations change, attendees can book with confidence.

“If people can’t travel due to Covid-19 restrictions, they’re able to get full refunds or transfer their registration to another delegate,” continues Mr Sclavos.

“Attendees and delegates can make their arrangements with certainty that they will not be out of pocket.

“We’re excited to see you all in less than two weeks. I’d hate for any attendees to miss out the fantastic program, sold-out trade and networking opportunities. If you haven’t already, view the APP program and book your APP2021 registration at appconference.com.”
