Symbion today announced it had extended its supply contract to Australian community pharmacy network Capital Chemist by a further five years, building on a 10-year partnership.
Under the agreement, Symbion will remain the first line wholesaler of prescription medicines, OTC and complementary health products to all 46 Capital Chemist pharmacies in Australia.
Symbion has been Capital Chemist’s major trading partner since 2014 and Symbion CEO Brett Barons welcomed the extension of the relationship between the two organisations in the Community Pharmacy sector.
“We are proud and honoured to continue our long association with Capital Chemist and we thank them for again entrusting Symbion to be their primary wholesale partner,” he said.
“It has been wonderful to be a valued partner in Capital Chemists’ growth in size and reputation over the decade and we look forward to extending the services and support we can offer to their pharmacists and patients.
“This partnership also speaks to our shared mission to deliver superior health outcomes for the community which is further evidenced through initiatives such as the Symbion and Capital Chemist Rural Pharmacy Scholarship.”
Capital Chemist’s CEO Andrew Topp said Symbion was a trusted partner that has been providing exceptional service to its pharmacy network.
“Since 1978, Capital Chemist has remained passionate about providing the highest level of care through personalised advice and offering a wide range of health services and quality products to our customers,” he said.
“Ensuring our pharmacists have timely access to a broad range of products and essential PBS medicines despite the challenges of the last few years is paramount. Symbion’s efficiency and exceptional service have been instrumental in supporting our pharmacies to be among the best in Australia. We highly value this partnership and the support it provides to our pharmacists and their patients.”
