The Australian Healthcare and Hospital Association’s, Australian Centre for Value-Based Health Care is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Susan McKee as Chair of the Centre’s Advisory Group.
As an internationally recognised leader in the implementation of system-wide value-based health care (VBHC), Ms McKee brings to the role a wealth of experience across the hospital and health sector and more recently through navigating the achievements and pitfalls of implementing VBHC transformational change over many years at Dental Health Services Victoria.
‘VBHC is an investment in the future of Australia’s health system. It is only together that we can achieve a health system that drives better outcomes for a sustainable future,’ says AHHA CEO Kylie Woolcock
‘Throughout her time leading Dental Health Services Victoria’s value-based transformation, Ms McKee has made many connections nationally and internationally that will support the Centre to continue to grow and advance the VBHC movement in Australia.’
‘As a longstanding member of the AHHA board Ms McKee’s appointment strengthens the connection between the grassroots VBHC implementation work of the Centre, and the policy and advocacy of AHHA, driving the creation of an outcome- focused value-based health system.’
On her appointment, Ms McKee said, ‘I am delighted to accept the role of Chair of the Australian Centre for VBHC Advisory Group.’
‘The transformation of the Australian health system cannot be achieved by health leaders on their own. Partnerships and collaboration need to occur across all health providers as well as educational institutions, funders, med tech and other industries.’
‘I am passionate about the strategic direction set for the Centre and partnering to build a community to share knowledge, develop skills and build evidence to advance value-based health care in Australia,’ continued Ms McKee.
‘I thank Dr Deborah Cole for her stewardship of the Centre since it was established in 2019 and look forward to working with the Centre’s Advisory Group, its affiliates, subscribers and stakeholders, to continue to advance VBHC in Australia.’
Ms McKee takes up her role as Australian Centre for VBHC Advisory Group Chair effective immediately.
