The Pharmacy Guild of Australia National President, Professor Trent Twomey, has reminded anyone wanting to nominate an outstanding pharmacy assistant for The Pharmacy Guild of Australia/Maxigesic Pharmacy Assistant of the Year Award (PATY) 2024 to act quickly as third-party nominations are Tomorrow Friday, 10 May.
PATY is the premier award for Australian pharmacy assistants and is now in its 18th year. It recognises and celebrates the ‘best of the best’ in community pharmacy.
Professor Twomey said he didn’t want anyone to miss out on having their efforts recognised.
“Third-party nominations are about to close in one days; it would be a shame if anyone missed out on having their work recognised,” Professor Twomey said.
“We are all really busy at the moment, but with the new streamlined process of nominating, it only takes a couple of minutes to recognise the efforts of others.
“The entire nomination process is online and is very quick,” said Professor Twomey.
“In our pharmacy, we know first-hand how important it is to appreciate and recognise the hard work of our team members.
“With PATY, pharmacy owners, managers, and pharmacists can make this a reality by nominating a deserving pharmacy assistant or colleague for all of their hard work during the year,” said Professor Twomey.
“The prizes on offer this year are also a huge motivator to nominate others,” Professor Twomey said.
“The state winners receive access to exclusive training and development sessions, return flights and accommodation for the National Judging Workshop on 5 September in Sydney, complimentary registration to the Pharmacy Assistant (PA) National Conference (5-7 September), an invitation to be a judge in their respective PATY2025 state workshops,
as well as recognition in national industry publications,” Professor Twomey said.
“The national winner receives a cash prize of $5,000, complimentary registration, return flights and accommodation for attendance at APP2025 and PA205 and an invitation to participate in the 2025 National Judging Workshop.”
