International Women’s Day 8 March The theme for this year’s International Women’s Day is ‘Choose to challenge’. It’s a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. Virtual events can be joined or created to connect groups in celebrating the activities of women. Visit: internationalwomensday.com    Coeliac Awareness Week 13-20 March Coeliac Australia’s 2021 Coeliac Awareness Week campaign aims to raise awareness about Australia’s relatively low coeliac disease diagnosis rate. Communities can get involved by spreading awareness via social media and starting discussions at work and in other social gatherings. Visit: coeliac.org.au/s    Harmony Week 15-21 March Harmony Week celebrates Australia’s cultural diversity. It’s about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging to everyone. Schools, sporting groups, workplaces and businesses can get involved via hosting or joining an event. Visit: harmony.gov.au    World Down Syndrome Day 21 March On this day, people around the world celebrate the lives and achievements of people with Down syndrome. The day provides an opportunity to raise awareness about the rights and inclusion of people with Down syndrome around the world. Visit: downsyndrome.org.au    Earth Hour 27 March Each year the hour of no power turns individuals, schools, businesses and communities into a millions-strong movement. Join the global movement making the #SwitchforNature by turning off your power for one hour. Visit: earthhour.org.au    Make March Purple for Epilepsy 1-31 March For Epilepsy Awareness Month, Epilepsy Australia is encouraging communities to make March purple for epilepsy. Purple is a grassroots movement to get people talking about epilepsy, addresses the myths about seizures, and shows people living with epilepsy that they are not alone. Visit: makemarchpurple.org.au    Clean Up Australia Day 7 March Clean Up Australia inspires and empowers communities to clean up, fix up and conserve the environment. Businesses, schools and other communities can get involved by registering an event, or individuals can register to an existing event, to help clean up Australia.
