Many challenges have been thrown our way this year, and with challenges has come change, even for the beauty industry. “2020 has been the year to experiment with beauty,” Chemcorp International Content Specialist Sinead M’Gee said. “With so much time on our hands, we’ve discovered personal beauty styles we may have never dipped our toes in had we not experienced months in lockdown. “Touches of glitter, neon-cut crease eyeliner, DIY beauty such as at-home brow tinting, insane nail art, clean beauty and skin minimalist trends are just a few of the beauty trends we’ve been following.” ET Browne Digital Communications Manager Emma Clark touches on the popularity of multi-purpose products in beauty. “We’re seeing a real desire for products that work harder, or deliver more, than they’ve ever been expected to,” she said. “Covid- or recession- induced frugality is one reason, but also the longer-term desire to consume more consciously and minimise waste.” G&M Cosmetics cites sustainability and natural ingredients as the two biggest trends of 2020. “Consumers are more aware of their personal environmental footprint than ever before and are now turning to brands that share their same ideals,” Ms DeCastro said. “They want to purchase from brands that they can trust and know are creating products that are sustainable, with minimal environmental footprint.” Taking these trends into account, this month we showcase products expected to be essential in ensuring the perfect party prep. be what it was last year, but the show isn’t over yet. We’re nearing the end of a tumultuous year that has swept us all off of our feet (not in a nice way).
