Herbal strategies for mild pain
Oriental Botanicals Curcumin Excel combines high-strength curcumin (from turmeric) with ginger and a standardised extract of boswellia.
In mild osteoarthritis, curcumin and boswellia help relieve mild joint pain and stiffness. With ginger, these herbs also may help improve the mobility of mildly osteoarthritic joints.
In Ayurvedic medicine, all three of these herbs are traditionally regarded as having pain-relieving and anti- inflammatory properties.
In traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), turmeric is traditionally believed to relieve muscle and joint pain by invigorating the flow of blood and qi
(life force energy), when they have become stagnant.
Ginger is traditionally used in TCM to clear obstructions such as wind and cold from the channels that the qi and blood flow
through, thus relieving mild aches and pains of the muscles,
joints, ligaments and tendons when ‘painful obstruction
syndrome’ is present.
