A s the seasons change, the weather warms up and the smell of spring wafts through the air, the fresh smell of blooming flowers and cut grass may bring issues to some – hello, allergy season 2020. For some, like
me, while stepping outside into the sunshine is a welcome relief after a cold, at times dreary winter, it’s also a time that involves
not being able to leave the house without an army of necessities. Antihistamines? Check. Eye drops? Check. Packet of tissues? Check, check. Thankfully for us, we’re privileged to hear from the talented 2019 PATY state and territory winners each month, who
in our September issue (pages 26-27) share insights around the best ways to beat allergies without having to relocate to a different planet – as a popular ad may suggest. But allergies aren’t the
only reason to stock up at your local retail pharmacy. The warmer weather is a ticket to the great outdoors – and yes, even in Melbourne, where the Covid-19 Stage 4 lockdown remains, an
hour of exercise outside is still allowed. As people head outside to walk, run, ride or even rollerblade, if accidents happen, your local retail pharmacy is your one-stop-shop for band-aids, antiseptic cream and everything you might need to patch yourself back up. Plus, let’s not forget the sunscreen. Heading into the sunshine after the darker, colder days of winter can quickly leave you sunburnt when you head out into the sun. So, make sure you stay sun safe. Speaking of nature and the great outdoors, a big conversation point of recent years has been sustainability. The beauty business is
one industry that is paving the way in the sustainability space with Garnier being just one example of what companies are doing to become greener and more sustainable. To read all about Garnier’s Green Beauty initiative turn to pages 16-19. This month we also spoke with Rebecca Klodinsky, an entrepreneur who exemplifies resilience (pages 20-22). We learn about eye care (pages 28-
30); the importance of maintaining muscle when trying to lose weight (pages 32-35); dive into women’s health (pages 36-39) and consider the latest issues within smoking cessation (pages 42-45). As always, we bring you the latest must-have products to stock
on your shelves (pages 50-51) and learn about the latest trends
in beauty (pages 52-53), skin (pages 56-57) and more. So, as you enjoy a break in the warm spring sunshine, make sure you check out this month’s issue – it’s another issue not to be missed. As always, if there’s anything you’d like to see in the magazine make sure you reach out. I’m only an email away.
