This month, Retail Pharmacy Assistants’ Margaret Mielczarek chats with the ‘endo warrior’ to learn more about the condition and about the organisation working to raise its awareness, Endometriosis Australia. What is your endometriosis story? My journey with endometriosis began when I was 16, when I got my very first period. My periods were very irregular and extremely painful, and I suppose at that time, at school, you’re taught, ‘Well it’s painful, suck it up and deal with it’. However, my mum, who’s a nurse (she’s retired now) actually said to me, ‘No, that’s not the case, that’s not normal at all’. She went on to tell me about this condition: endometriosis.
