Queensland’s CHO to speak at APP2021

Hon Steven Miles MP - Dr Jeannette Young - Professor Trent Twomey

Queensland’s Chief Health Officer (CHO), Dr Jeannette Young has been one of the most instrumental health experts in Queensland’s fight against the Covid-19 pandemic and now attendees at APP2021 will have the opportunity to hear directly from Dr Young as she addresses the pharmacy industry at the event.

“We are very excited to be having Dr Young address the pharmacy industry at APP2021,” says Kos Sclavos AM, APP2021 Convenor and former Guild National President.

“Dr Young has been in the role of CHO for Queensland for more than 15 years now and has led Queensland selflessly through the Covid-19 pandemic to ensure that the community is safe and health.”

Mr Sclavos says to hear from Dr Young “is a unique opportunity for the pharmacy industry” and believes that the line-up of speakers for APP2021 is one of the best he has seen in decades.

“Along with Dr Young, attendees will also hear from The Hon Greg Hunt MP, Federal Minister for Health and Aged Care, and The Hon Mark Butler MP, Shadow Minister for Health and Aged Care will also be addressing delegates on Thursday morning,” says Mr Sclavos.

“Another of the key speaks will be Gary Mortimer, who will speak on consumer behaviour in a post-Covid world and Craig James, Chief Economist of CommBank, who will be speaking on the state of the Australian economy.”

With APP2021 just seven weeks Mr Sclavos encourages “the industry to register if they haven’t already” and reminds those hesitant to register due to the volatile Covid-19 climate that registration is “risk-free”.

“[The] risk-free booking guarantee protects everyone who has registered and paid. Attendees have options if border control measures or government restrictions prevent them from attending,” says Mr Sclavos.

Early Bird registration is now closed. However, attendees can learn more about Covid-Safety and book their APP2021 registration at appconference.com.
