Measuring blood pressure course

Media Release

2 March 2020

Blood pressure monitoring is one of the most common health services offered in community pharmacy, and a role that is often performed by pharmacy assistants.

Understanding the correct technique for blood pressure monitoring is essential to providing a safe and quality service.

However it is just as important for pharmacy assistants to be able to interpret the results, communicate these to patients, and recognise when it is appropriate to seek further health advice from the pharmacist.

Guild Learning and Development has announced the launch of a new online course for pharmacy assistants called “Measuring blood pressure”.

The course provides pharmacy assistants with information on best practice blood pressure monitoring, referral guidelines, as well as advice on maintaining a healthy heart for consumers.
