The next chapter in the Pfizer Invites webinar series includes five international and Australian experts from across the healthcare sector exploring what medicines access and the sector’s sustainability will look like beyond COVID-19.
‘Life on the Other Side’ on Thursday 18 June will be moderated by BioPharmaDispatch founding publisher Paul Cross, with panellists including Lung Foundation Australia CEO Mark Brooke, Medicines Australia CEO Elizabeth de Somer, UNSW Professor of Global Biosecurity Raina MacIntyre, Pfizer Centres for Therapeutic Innovation Executive Director Strategy and Business Planning Sam O’Connor and Pharmacy Guild of Australia National President George Tambassis.
According to Pfizer, the panel will discuss some of the most important and complex challenges the industry faces as Australia prepares for a gradual reopening of the economy, including medicine availability and access, profiling the patient voice, R&D collaboration around COVID-19, and ensuring the sustainability of innovative healthcare in Australia.
“It’s important to have a panel of this calibre debating the unique and pressing challenges facing our healthcare industry, economy and community more broadly in a post-COVID-19 world,” says Pfizer Australia and New Zealand Managing Director Anne Harris.
“It promises to be a fascinating discussion.
“Healthcare, and the way we engage with it, is rapidly evolving. While patients, providers and the pharmaceutical industry have access to more medicines, more knowledge and more technology than ever before, the critical question post-pandemic will centre on how we adapt to our new reality to thrive beyond the COVID-19 crisis.”
