6 minutes with … Mark Hatter from Elementelle Probiotics+

With gut health at the forefront of health and wellness, in the July issue of Retail Pharmacy Assistants e-magazine, we spoke with Mark Hatter, National Sales and Marketing Manager at Elementelle Probiotics+ to learn about this latest addition to the VMS shelf.

Tell us about your professional background and how you came to work at Elementelle Probiotics+. What is your role at the company?

I have more than 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Prior to my role at Elementelle Probiotics+, I was the Victoria/NSW national sales and marketing manager with Sigma Pharmaceuticals for 10 years; the CEO and national sales manager with Pharmacor for seven years; and sales manager Australia and international with RBK Nutraceuticals for two years.

At Elementelle Probiotics+ I’m the National Sales and Marketing Manager. The focus is to drive sales and provide marketing and promotional support, along with acquiring new business across several channels: pharmacy, health food stores and retail outlets.

We strive to create awareness for the brand and to provide all Australians with the best possible probiotics available.

Can you provide some insight into the company and the story behind it?

The company started in Australia in 2016, noticing a gap in the market to provide Australia with a world-leading probiotic that is consumed in the country where it was originally produced – by more than 17 million people every day.

That’s over half of all Australians.

I wanted to work with a company that cares about this amazing country we’re so lucky to live in.

My whole working life I have chosen to work for Australian companies. I feel proud to say that we’re Australian made and support the Australian economy.

We could buy our ingredients from all over the world for less, like many other companies in the probiotics/vitamin category, but instead, we source the best possible ingredients for all our products to offer you the best probiotics range available in Australia.

What is the aim/mission of the company?

Our mission is to provide all Australians with the opportunity to purchase our growing range of probiotics around the country.

Our aim is to improve the overall health of all family members with a growing range of TGA-listed products.

Why is gut health (the gut microbiome) such an important health area at the moment?

If the gut microbiome is out of balance, you can inexperience a range of issues including constipation, bloating, inflammation, poor digestion, poor immune function, mental health issues, infection and, bacterial and fungal overgrowth.

How does Elementelle Probiotics+ differ from other probiotics on the market?

Each Elementelle Probiotics+ product starts with the gut, as this is central to health. Then, through the carefully and strategically selected vitamin/mineral choice, additional benefits are introduced to the product. It becomes greater than probiotics or vitamins and minerals alone.
