The Pharmacy Guild of Australia and the Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI) have teamed up to make it easier for businesses to offer employees safe, quick and convenient access to Covid vaccines.
TCCI CEO, Michael Bailey, says it was vital employers made it as easy as possible for employees to get vaccinated.
“We all have a role to play in the vaccine rollout,” says Mr Bailey.
“This is a free service for all businesses and their employees. Simply go to tcci.com.au to register, share the link with your employees and do your part to protect the community. Employees can then book a vaccination at a participating pharmacist at a time that suits them.
“This could be a game changer. We know that vaccination rates are lower in regional areas, so by connecting the business community and the Pharmacy Guild, particularly in regional areas, we’re stepping up and working together to get the job done.
“The Government has made it clear that to open Tasmania’s borders and to begin to get back to a more normal way of life, we need to vaccinate the vast majority of the Tasmanian population. We know that businesses are suffering because of border restrictions, so the best way to help your business is to help yourself to a free vaccine and we’re doing everything we can to make that as easy as possible.”
President of the Tasmanian branch of the Pharmacy Guild of Australia, Helen O’Byrne, has warmly welcomed the partnership.
“This is a big step towards achieving Covid-19 vaccinations across Tasmania,” says Ms O’Byrne.
“Employees and employers will have the benefit of an easy mechanism to book their vaccination from a qualified community pharmacist immuniser at a quality-accredited community pharmacy.
“It’s an easy, fast and convenient process – and it’s an important way of contributing to the safety and well-being of Tasmanians across the state,” she says.
