An item most Australians already keep in the bathroom cabinet is being given a new purpose as Chemists’ Own turns thermometer sales into support for childhood cancer research.
Chemists’ Own is donating 50% of the profits from every participating Digital Thermometer sold to My Room Children’s Cancer Charity.
The initiative, launched on Monday (31 August), aims to fund research and practical support for children with cancer and their families.
Turning a routine purchase into impact
Daniela Priekopa, speaking on behalf of Chemists’ Own, says the thermometer was a fitting product to anchor the campaign given how often families reach for it in moments of worry.
“A thermometer is something many Australians reach for when someone they love is feeling unwell,” she says.
“Through this partnership, every purchase becomes an opportunity to support children and families facing the unimaginable.
“We’re incredibly proud to partner with My Room Children’s Cancer Charity and hope Australians will join us in making a meaningful difference through an everyday healthcare essential.”
About My Room
Funds raised will support My Room Children’s Cancer Charity, a volunteer-led organisation that funds innovative childhood cancer research, improves clinical care, and provides practical support services for children with cancer and their families across Australia.
Speaking on behalf of My Room, Margaret Zita says the partnership extends the charity’s reach far beyond fundraising alone.
“Every dollar raised helps fund groundbreaking research, improve treatment outcomes and provide vital support to families navigating childhood cancer,” she says.
“We’re incredibly grateful to Chemists’ Own for turning an everyday healthcare purchase into an opportunity for Australians to make a real and lasting difference.”
The Chemists’ Own Digital Thermometer is available at participating pharmacies nationwide.
With every participating purchase, Australians can help support children and families affected by childhood cancer, with 50% of profits donated directly to My Room Children’s Cancer Charity.
